Check your braking ability often in poor conditions. Start at low speed, shift to "NEUTRAL" in an automatic or use your clutch in a manual & stab your brakes. If you slide -
" Don't go any faster - in fact you should likely slow down".
If you can run and slide on it you likely can't drive on it.
If you do find yourself sliding - resist the urge to use your brakes. We call the brake pedal the SUBMISSION pedal.
Concentrate on your directional control by keeping your eyes moving - looking for a safe spot to stop your vehicle without hitting something.
You WILL hit "anything" you look at and you cannot steer with your foot on the brake.
It's better to avoid an object at 80 kph than to hit it at 60 kph.
